We are anchored at Sanggeang. We will go on the shore to visit a village.
Sanggeang island sits under two very active volcanoes.
Rinca is part of the Komodo National Park. We landed there to meet the Komodo dragons. From an eminence, we dominate the tormented coasts of the island.
The Gili Islands are close to Lombok. The three islands cover 15 km² and are populated by 3500 inhabitants.
From Bali to Flores, we sailed for 8 days and traveled about 500 nautical miles aboard a beautiful schooner modified to accommodate divers: the "Raja Laut".
We were ten passengers on board, accompanied by a crew about as large, supplemented by three divemasters. We often had to use the motor to cope with sometimes violent currents, but we also enjoyed privileged moments of sailing.
The pace of the days was defined by the dives, with long moments of rest on the bridge. Without forgetting of course the sacrosanct evening drinks.
To attend the sunrise before the first dive, the sunset before the evening drinks, to land on deserted islands, these pleasures complemented the exceptional dives of this cruise.
